Meet Our Staff

The Well has assembled a caring, student-centered team of coordinators, mentors, and educators to help you get the most out of your UC Riverside experience. If you have any questions, problems, or a concern, we probably have someone on our staff that can't wait to help you through it. Our doors are open five days a week, and you're always welcome to contact us by phone or via e-mail.

Connie Marmolejo, DrPH -Director

  • Connie (she/her/ella) grew up in Southern California and received her BS in Health Science and Human Ecology and her Master of Public Health degree from Cal State San Bernardino. She earned her DrPH in Health Policy and Leadership from Loma Linda University, in which her research focused on student mental health and food security.  She joined The Well family in 2018. Connie stays well by going to the gym, traveling, and spending time with her friends and family.


Marisol Torres, MPH, MCHES - Senior Health Promotion Specialist

  • Marisol (she/her/ella) was born in Mexico and grew up in San Bernardino, CA. She earned her BS in Health Science and Human Ecology from Cal State San Bernardino and her Master of Public Health from UCLA. She advises the peer group Golden ARCHES, and her focus areas are sexual health, alcohol, and other substances. She joined The Well in 2017 and then again in 2021. Marisol stays well by jogging, working out, sleeping, and spending time with her family and friends. 
 

Daniel Lopez Salas, MPP- Student Health Promotion Specialist

  • Daniel was born near Mexico City and moved to the California at the age of 6. In 2016, he earned his BA in Linguistics and Anthropology at UC Riverside. Daniel advises the Public Health Peers, focusing on COVID-19 and Flu prevention and education across UC Riverside. Some of Daniel's ways to be well is hiking, biking, or finding new restaurants to eat at. He joined The Well in 2017 and then again in 2021. Daniel stays well by biking, hiking, and jogging among other outdoor activities
 

Jesus Gomez Manzo- Mental Health Promotion Specialist

  • Jesus (he/him/el) was born in Mexico and moved to California at the age of 2 where he grew up in El Monte, CA. In 2016, he moved to Riverside to attend UCR - where he earned his BA in Psychology and Education in 2019. While a student at UCR, he was a student staff with The Well working for Golden ARCHES and the R’Pantry. After graduating, Jesus spent time working in the non-profit sector focusing on community building and strengthening. Jesus joined The Well in 2024 and advises the peer group Active Minds, supporting campus-wide mental health promotion and education. Jesus stays well by exercising, watching tv shows/movies/YouTube videos, and spending time with his family.
